My New Years Resolutions:
Starting running/playing basketball and getting healthier and more into shape. That's the main resolution but besides that I think celebrating a new year is pretty pointless. It's just another time for people to party and have a good time, which is fine with me because I enjoy watching all the college football bowls around this time.
The winter break has been fun. It's almost over and I've enjoyed watching pretty much eveyr bowl game and relaxing and eating poorly.

Another break
Didn't realize that I haven't wrote anything since last break. Thanksgiving break was fun with the wedding and of course Thanksgiving. I got to see all my relatives and family which was a good time. Now, it's winter break. At this moment, it just feels like I came home for the weekend and that the semester isn't over yet. I just have a strange feeling, but once it hits me I know I'll be happy because it's nice knowing that you don't have any work to do for two weeks.
This break should be as good as the last one and possibly better. I'm going to AZ with the family like previous years. It's very fun there and I enjoy just relaxing and enjoying the nice weather. It should also be interesting over this break because Meg's family is leaving tomorrow so she'll be alone for a week or so.
I haven't played too much poker recently. I've been lazy just watching sports and TBS during the day. I'll randomly play some LO8 or some LHE, but I haven't felt like playing much recently. I know that in a week or so all I'll want to do is play cards so until then I'm going to enjoy whatever I happen to do. Also, bowl games are coming up which makes this the second best time of the year besides March Madness. This blog isn't very interesting so I guess I'll cut the entry off here. Enjoy your December, break, and whatever holiday you celebrate.

Been a long time
It's been a while since I've posted on here. I had to get my computer fixed which took a week or two (Thanks HP, hah, yeah right). Besides that I haven't felt like playing much poker. I've played a few tournaments and cashed in a few. I have been playing limit hold 2/4 again and two days ago I started playing heads up limit holdem 2/4. So far I've played around 660 hands and I'm up $200 or so. The key is finding out your opponent's weaknesses and exploiting them. So far it's worked pretty well, but heads up can be very swingy and I'm not sure how I'd handle the swings.
School has been okay. The classes aren't very hard and from what I can tell, I'm getting pretty good grades. In our Sales Force management class we had to read The Greatest Salesman in the World. It's more of a religious book but I think it affected the way I think. It made me realize how important people can be to me and I'll probably look over the book if I'm ever feeling down. It's a nice motivator and makes me think.
Thanksgiving break starts tomorrow! I've been looking forward to the break all week. Because of that, it's been a pretty slow week. I don't have any classes tomorrow so I'll hopefully be home around 1PM. I'm looking forward to relaxing with my family and friends, Thanksgiving, and the wedding. This is the most I've looked forward to a break in a while. I'm just excited because so much is going on and it's good to hang out with the people that are important to me because I don't have many people like that here at school. Well, I'm sharing too much and hopefully it's a great break!

Not much
Not much has been going on poker wise. I got 2nd in $5.50 LHE tourney about a week ago for $70-something but I couldn't finish because the fire alarm went off in our building so I went outside and by the time I got back I was out.. AND of course it was a drill so I wasn't happy. Besides that, I started playing a little PLO (pot limit omaha) on full tilt and some NL .25/.50 on Absolute. I'm still playing limit hold em but sometimes it's fun to play other games too.
I've been doing more school work, watching tv, and reading the forum than playing. It doesn't help that I usually want to play cards at night and that's when I have to do hw.
Also, it's confusing because I wasn't able to sign in to Absolute last week (during the week). Then this last weekend I was able to get on. Yesterday, again I wasn't able to get on and today I was. Stupid college is messing with me.
Not much else to say besides the Illini are 3-1! (should be 4-0)
EDIT: I also wanted to comment on school a little bit more. It's kinda nice to have a room to myself and it's very peaceful unlike last year when you couldn't get a quiet moment. At first it was hard getting used to but I think I enjoy the setup and the way it is now more than I did before. The only bad part is that I have to clean up a little more. Here's a link to a few pics of the room (nothing special)

I can't get the link to work that well so I just posted it above.

BR at end of Aug: $589 (+14 for month)

BR end of Aug: $446 (+221 for month)
overall goal: profit $875
Actual profit: $502
Not horrible considering I still made $500. I played too many tournaments, but I had a good time

Currently I've been play 1/2 6-max tables and I've been playing pretty well. I haven't played as much as I've liked because school started and I'm trying to get into the swing of things and I've been reading/taking notes a lot for classes. I'm up a few hundred so far.
Any requests of what I should write about for the non-poker fans? (yeah I know I have sooooooo many readers)
Or any poker questions? Did I confuse anyone with the lingo?

It's update time
It's about time I posted an update. I'm going to try and post more frequently. I stopped playing LHE 2/4 because I was getting killed at that limit. I lost a lot during July and about $500 from full tilt to pokerstars.
Here's the goals I set for my August:
I was down about $900 on AP, down $144 on stars, and $75 on FT but August should be a better month.

Currently
I've been focusing on LHE 1/2 on AP, PS, and FT. I'm also reading Small Stakes Hold Em to polish up my game. I just finished the preflop part and I already feel I'm playing better even though the results haven't shown it. I'll make sure to post my results from August at the end of the month.
Other Stuff
I recently bought a 37" Olevia TV. I'm very excited about it and I'm also getting an antenna for HD.
School starts around labor day and I'm looking forward to having a room to myself.

June Results
Warning: Non-poker players might not understand most of the post below.
Here's my graph from yesterday to today early morning.

Basically all the hands are from LHE 2/4 on AP, which can be very fishy at times.
Here's my graph for June on AP.

Goal for June: get BR to 3k or win 1k
Started June with: $1954.51 on AP
Of course I transferred $800 of it to FT and $200 to stars so no way that could could be completed.
End of month balance at AP: $1617.55
PS balance $125.21
FT balance: $755.12
Total: $2497.88
(also cashed out $93 from somewhere else, not that it really matters)
Started off the month playing NL .50/1 and went on a huge hot streak but that ended. Then I got frustrated with NL and moved over to limit. I found that this game was just as good and has many more fish than the NL.
EDIT: I also signed up for rakeback and it won't go into my account until the 15th but it should be at least $200.

Time for a little update
Been a while since an update... The BR is well into four figures and I changed my sn on absolute so I could get rakeback. Hopefully it works so when I'm losing I'm still technically winning some money from rake.
In other news, summer is here and that means work and lots of bowling. BOwled a 253 (high game) a week or so ago and it's been cheap bowling recently so that's been nice.
The new SN on absolute is GarbageBag. Yeah pretty damn clever especially because I thought of it myself.. Well back to video games and poka.. Later

Running great in Tourneys
On the 17th or Tuesday I played in another tourney on Absolute. This was a $2 NL hold em tourney with 356 entries. We got down to three handed and I had the chip lead until my 6-6 lost to A-Q. I came back to finished second for $90.70.
Tonight (Thursday night) I was feeling hungry again and decided to play in the $3 rebuy where the winner got about $2000. I spent $12 ($3 entry + $3 add on at the start + $6 double add on at the first break). I didn't get much until about the third hour. After that I headed up the leaderboard. I ran out of gas when my AQs lost to AK. I finished in 18th, which paid $90.99. I played well but the cards didn't quite go my way at the end. It's also hard to play once you get near the end especially because you think about the money.
I think I've cashed in 4 or 5 straight tourneys which is a great achievement for me.
Bankroll on Absolute now after starting with a free $20 is: $400.19

Absolute
I haven't played a whole lot on Stars recently but I've still been playing. I've been on Absolute because about a month ago they gave me a free $20. I've been playing limit hold em (newer game to me) and limit omaha h/l. In the past week or so I started playing the $1, $2, $5 tourneys on there and I cashed on Friday, Sunday, and today. Today was a nice day with the tourneys. I finished top 3 out of 600 something in a freeroll and I'm entered in the "Absolute Dream Package Final" and I finished 4th in a $2 rebuy for $59.
Currently I've got the free $20 up to $251.54 and hopefully higher as time moves on.

The Incomplete Goal
I'm currently around $66.. I haven't played as much as I could have because I've been watching lots of basketball, doing hw, and haven't been in much of a mood to play too often... I'm still trying to get to $250 but it certainly won't happen by the end of this month.. Figured I would update since it's been a long time since the update.

$1.88 to $250 Goal
On February 18th a forum member kindly transfered me $1.88 in my PS account. I decided I was going to try to work it up to $250 by the end of March. I haven't been playing a whole lot of poker recently because I've been preoccupied with basically every college basketball game that's been on tv, but that's the goal I've set for myself. Wish me luck and hopefully I'll be posting updates more than I have been.
Also I'm currently at $24.34 so hopefully I continue to increase the "roll".

Yuck
The US government has recently introduced new legislation in the form of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. To best protect the interests of NETELLER members, employees, shareholders and business partners, NETELLER will no longer provide service to US members to transfer funds to and from online gambling merchants.
Can this lead to the end of online poker? Either way, it sucks. Neteller is the most popular "e-wallet" for gambling purposes. I'm glad that I don't have a whole lot of money on sites, but it's frustrating to know that I can't get it off very easily and that the government is cracking down on online poker when it's still legal to carry a gun around, gamble at race tracks, and with lottery tickets. Also, there are murderers walking around and we stick to trying to prevent people from having fun on the internet. I'm obviously biased on this topic, but take it or leave it.
