This is the second best time of the year in the sports world: bowl season! Arizona has been very fun beacuse of the relaxation and bowl season. It's fun going to the hot tub and just being as lazy as possible. The Insight Bowl was fun and was exactly how I expected it. Kansas pretty much controlled the game from the second quarter on.
I guess I should set some goals for next year and maybe I'll try to follow them.
I want to lose 15 to 20 pounds and feel better about myself.
I want to find a job that I can hopefully enjoy.
I want to enjoy life and the people around me.
I want to maintain a very happy relationship with Megan.
I want to be confident with whatever I do.
Guess that's enough to try to accomplish for next year. I would write more but I'm not really in the mood. Hope you have a good 2010.
EDIT: FML, It's not 2010 but it feels like it is.

Thank You
Thank You
Family Version
Thank you for turning me into the person I am today. I am not joking around. These are all serious. I know I forgot stuff and this isn’t meant to offend anyone. It is to thank you for the things you have given to me, whether it is good or bad.
Dad
Thank you for getting me into sports and steering me away from theater and music. I don’t know where I’d be today without sports.
Thank you for the sarcastic attitude and sense of humor that you gave to me. I don’t think I could live without them.
Thank you for hating parades and fireworks. I don’t understand how some people enjoy them.
Thank you for the perfectionist side of me. I only use it for stupid things though.
Thank you for advising me on my homework and papers. I know most of them sucked but you should be glad I don’t show you them anymore.
Thank you for the grey hair that I will get in years to come.
Thank you for your stubbornness (at least I think I got it from you). I am working on not being so stubborn.
Thank you for listening to my useless stats, information, and stories. I know they are boring but you sometimes listen to them.
Thank you for the bad stomach aches. Monday mornings are the worst.
Mom
Thank you for the sensitive side that I have. I like being able to show that I care and how I feel.
Thank you for you for being extremely nice to me and always being there. When I get down, I always know you’re there for me.
Thank you for signing me up for sports teams. I know Dad doesn’t like sitting through them but they’ve helped further my interest in sports.
Thank you for my love of chocolate. It’s a good and bad thing but it tastes so freaking good.
Thank you for being so lenient with us and putting us first.
Thank you for your love and compassion.
Thank you for telling me that it isn’t the end of the world if I don’t do well on a presentation or project. I always remember the time you told me that and it keeps me calm.
Thank you for sharing all your stories with me. I have something great to look forward to every time I talk with you.
Emily
Thank you for teaching me about drugs and alcohol (I know you didn’t know you were teaching me then).
Thank you for giving me the training to win arguments. We all know I’ve used the skills since then.
Thank you for inviting me to events or things to do because I know I have a lot more down time in college than the normal person.
Thank you for being a pain to share a bathroom with (It was hard sometimes) because now I know how minimal it was compared to the dumbass I share one with now.
Thank you for being curious about the things going on in my life. I like to know that people care.
Thank you for making me go to all your onstage performances and plays. It helped me understand that I don’t like attending most of those types of events. (no offense, it has nothing to do with your performance or anything to do with you)
Paul
Thank you for letting me know when no one cares about my pointless information. At least someone tells me so I don’t waste all my time talking when no one is listening.
Thank you for listening to my useless sports information and everything. I don’t even know if you listen technically since a lot of it is online.
Thank you for introducing me to music and video games that I did not open my mind to or even know about.
Thank you for hanging out with me and being one of my best friends because I know other people probably couldn’t stand me.
Thank you for speaking your mind. I know I’m a dumbass sometimes and you are willing to call me out on it.
Thank you for fighting back at me when I would try to pick on you. I deserve a punch in the face sometimes.
And yes Megan, you will be included. I'll give you your own special entry next time.

Last Summer
The summer was filled with highlights and lows. I can say that I definitely didn't complete all of the goals I set for the summer, but I had a great time. This felt like the longest summer I've ever had and I'm glad since it's basically my last free summer before I have to "grow up". I did a lot over the summer, considering my biggest journey was to Flat Rock. Who knew that an uneventful summer could be so eventful.
Played a crap load of baseball: We played almost every day after work. Looking forward to baseball every day made the work day go a lot faster.
Bought a new car: I'm extremely happy with my purchase (Nissan Rogue), and I hope Slawd can last for a while.
Bought an XBOX 360: I didn't think I'd ever pull the trigger on it but with some convincing from Paul I finally got it.
Went to Flat Rock for Flat Rock days. It was fun but I think it could have been better.
Worked: Put in some time at the CU. It was a lot more fun when Paul was working there.
Oscar died: This was definitely the most difficult part of the summer. I think one of the reasons the summer was so long was because when I was home I didn't have too much to do without him around. I still think about him everyday and sometimes I still can't believe that he's gone.
I know I'm probably forgetting something major but I can't think right now. I'm not 100% ready to go to school, but I guess it's time. I'm mainly afraid of finding a job and what I'm going to do after school.

I miss you and will always remember you, Oscar.
I've never cried as much as I did today. I've been fortunate to not lose anyone really close to be. I can't stop replaying different moments and memories that I have of him. He always brought a smile to my face and was always extremely happy to see me when I came home. I have no one to curl up and lay right next to me or beg to get onto my bed. After Oscar would climb onto my bed, he had a smirk on his face like he was king of the world. That alone brings me to tears.
I hope this only gets easier because I cannot do anything to get him off my mind. He was a huge part of this family and it leaves a big hole now that he's gone. I still can't help thinking what it was like for him before he passed away. I hope he wasn't in pain and it just felt like a stomach ache. He must have felt something since he went poo multiple times in the room. When did he pass away and what caused it? I wish I knew the answers but I can only fill the holes with my guesses. He died on his side (his favorite position to sleep) and his eyes were partly open. I feel bad because he could have been crying for help but everyone was asleep and when we woke up he was as stiff as a board, meaning he was probably dead for a little bit.
I know I'm writing a lot on this but he means so much to me and this is the best way for me to share my feelings and thoughts and to remember him the way he should be remembered. I didn't think that I would be so emotional, but I definitely showed that today. Feel free to write your favorite Oscar memories here if you'd like. Thanks.
RIP Oscar, you will never be forgotten.

Rest In Peace Oscar
This morning I woke up to my mom screaming that Oscar was dead. I was and still am in disbelief. How could this have happened? My mom said that he had been sleeping in her room and that she didn't want to wake him this morning because he had been up late. She went to go feed the cat and normally Oscar runs in to eat the cat food but he didn't do that this time, so she knew something was wrong. He had passed away laying on his side next to my mom's bed, but he made sure to leave his mark before he left. He went poo in multiple spots around my mom's room. (Was he saying something?)
I had work off yesterday and he had been sleeping in my bed for most of the day and I didn't see anything wrong with him. I can't help but think about everything I've ever done with him when I walk around the house or even sit in my room. It's extremely hard to think how I'm going to come home from school after a few months and there is no dog extremely excited to see and greet me. Who is going to beg for my food (even food that he didn't like)?
We lost an amazing member of our family today. He was the nicest that I've ever been around and he loved being around people. When I would go to bed, he would jump on my chair, and up onto my bed. Then he would go under the covers and lay right up against me. It was amazing.
I would always love to take off a day of work and just relax with him. We both had that lazy/relaxation type of personality to us so I think he enjoyed being around me. I'm just happy that he didn't suffer a lot (from what we can tell) and that he died as a happy dog and enjoyed his life to the fullest.

It has certainly been a while
Let's see what's been going on....
School is out for da summer. Got 2 As and 2 A-s, which means it is the first time I've ever gotten straight As and my GPA is up to my goal of 3.5, so hopefully it stays above that.
I've done nothing this whole week since I have it all off. I've pretty much relaxed and play baseball every afternoon.
Absolute gave me a free $10 and I've worked that up to $75, so we'll see what that leads to.
We went to a Sox game, my first since 2 seasons ago. That was a good time. The seats were very nice.
Also, we went to a Brew game A WHILE AGO. Of course we got standing room only tickets (NOT SURE WHY for a Brew-Cards game). I mean they play 19 times a year. What's the big deal about that time? (the $1 hot dogs weren't worth it)
I guess now is a good time to set some summer goals.
Bowl 200 or above twice
Work the AP money up to at least $200
Finish Moneyball
Stay alive while working
Lose 10 pounds. I won't say down to what since I'm a little embarrassed with what I weigh now.
Keep the blog updated (mainly for myself)
Go to another Sox or Brew game
Work with Photoshop a little bit and make some sexy backgrounds
That seems like a solid list, but I may update it later. I'm out of stuff to say so I guess that's it for now. Bye bye.

Long Time, No Entry
It's been a while since I last wrote in this spectacular blog. Since last time, I've withdrawn all my poker $ and have regretted withdrawing some of it. I've been bored some days and had nothing to do and I would normally play during these times. A few classes have required more work than I'm used to giving so that has been able to take my mind off cards a little.
Also, baseball season has started so that should help occupy me for a while. I think I'm ready for the summer and a little change. Here's it has been a little to repititous for me. I was going to write an entry a month or so ago about the boots that many girls here at school wear, so I'll write about them now.
I'm sure you know what boots I'm talking about. The "ugg" boots are what I'm discussing. I've seen many girls wear these boots and other "hooker-looking" boots when there isn't even any snow on the ground. What the hell is going on here? Aren't boots supposed to replace shoes when it snows a lot? People are wearing these boots as a fashion statement. It's ridiculous. I find it hard to not laugh when I see someone wearing those when it's not snowy outside.

I know there are some guys that want a girl that is into fashion (not many), but I'd say that all I want is someone that makes me laugh, lets me watch my sports (most at least), and doesn't have to dress up all the time. If you are with a girl, then why should she have to dress up a lot because she should only be trying to impress you and not the other people around you.
I've rambled way too much about whatever so I'll cut it here.

Time for another entry: Vegas trip, New Semester
My mom and I went to Vegas over J-term break. Overall, I had a great time. We went through at least half of the hotels/casinos and it was fun just walking up and down the strip and gambling with my mom. We don't usually get to do things with just us so it was nice. We went to see Seinfeld stand up, which was amazing. Obv, he is extremely funny and he does it without swearing. We played a lot of blackjack switch at Casino Royale because it was a cheaper game and it was very funny and interesting. It was very crowded because it was Super Bowl weekend, so I'm not really sure how Vegas is on a normal weekend (FU Giants). We bet on some games, relaxed, and had a good time. It was a nice break from school. The airport was an interesting experience and below I typed out what happened (I typed this as it was happening so I wouldn't forget it).
"•Lady at baggage checkin: said that flight was cancelled when we knew it wasn't cancelled but other chicago ones were.. after a debate she admit that it was still going to go but delayed a half hour.
•We got to our gate and waited as our flight was delayed from 4:40 up til 7:30.
•Then someone noticed that our flight had changed gates but the workers claimed that this was our gate. After 20 mins they realized that we had moved to gate 11.
•We moved to gate 11 and after at least a half hour, the flight crew got on the plane and it felt like we were about to board (probably 7:40)
•Then they said that this one was canceled so we rushed back to gate 11 (another chicago flight) right after this one was going off around 8:15
•We got tickets for this flight and eventually got onto the plane around the time we were supposed to leave.
•We got seated and I noticed that the bags were being taken off the plane after they were put on. This made me suspicious
•Right after that they said that the flight was canceled so we got off and figured we ere screwed
•We stood in line for about 20-30 mins waiting to get our tickets back and to find out other options or other flights. (they kept our bags and said that they would send them to chicago the next day on the first flight, which is illegal)
•After taking with the nice woman for 30 mins we found a flight to Albuquerque that departed at 10:25 (it was delayed from 9:10), so we took the last two seats.
•The plane was a little late (10:40), but we were almost onto the plane then they said that we had to go back because we were delayed because of more fog.
•After about an hour we were able to get going and it took about 1 hr 20 min to get there. it's 2:54 now and we are waiting to see if we can get onto a flight at 7:40 to Chicago
•We got to the terminal around 4:40, and waited in line for about hr 20 mins then we got on the standby list. I took a nap and we then knew that we were headed to chi midway at 7:40
• Flight was actually on time, but our bags weren't there bc the flight from LV hadn't come in yet. We ended up waiting about 2 hrs for our bags, but my mom's bag didn't come in so it took another 1/2 hr to fill out complaint forms. It took another 1/2 hr to fill out complaint forms."
J-term was great. The class was very easy and enjoyable. This semester hasn't been fun so far. The MWF classes seem like they could take a lot of work and I feel stupid compared to some of the others in that class. Oh well, guess I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for the trip, Mom. I had a great time.

You are a lot better than I'll ever be.
